    GROUPS TO CELEBRATE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF GLADWYNE’S
    SAUNDERS WOODS PRESERVE

    Gladwyne, PA " Natural Lands Trust, Bridlewild Trails Association, Lower Merion Conservancy and Friends of Saunders Woods will join together on May 17 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the donation of the 25-acre Saunders Woods Preserve to Natural Lands Trust by Dorothy Love Saunders.

    The event is free and open to the public and will include nature walks, children’s activities, music and an official commemoration of the anniversary.

    West Rockhill and Milford residents partner with Natural Lands Trust
    to preserve over 110 acres.

    Media, PA - Six landowners in West Rockhill and Milford Townships, Bucks County, have entered into permanent conservation agreements with Natural Lands Trust, the region's largest land conservation organization. The properties, which total more than 110 acres, remain in private ownership but will be protected from future development by a type of permanent restriction called a conservation easement.

    AT STROUD PRESERVE, WEST CHESTER

    Chester County, PA – Join Natural Lands Trust, in partnership with TreeVitalize and Stroud Water Research Center, for a “Tree Planting Day” on Saturday, Dec. 8. All ages are encouraged to help. Groups are also welcome.

    The event will run from 9 a.m. – noon at the Stroud Preserve located at 454 North Creek Road in West Chester, Pa. Lunch will be provided to participants at noon.

    Conservation easement expands preserved area and ensures

    Natural Lands Trust, a non-profit land conservation organization, has completed a second conservation easement on the Resica Falls Boy Scout Reservation in Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County. The easement, which restricts development on the property without transferring ownership, ensures that an additional 910 acres of valuable natural open space will be permanently preserved while allowing scouting activities to continue.

    NATURAL LANDS TRUST COMPLETES PRESERVATION
    OF 4,000 ACRES AT RESICA FALLS SCOUT RESERVATION

    Monroe County, PA – Natural Lands Trust has completed the fourth and final phase of a conservation easement on the Resica Falls Boy Scout Reservation in Middle Smithfield Township, Monroe County. The easement, which restricts development on the property without transferring ownership, now covers 4,014 acres of mature woods, wetlands and lakes.

  • NATURAL LANDS TRUST, BUCKS COUNTY PARTNER WITH
    MILFORD TWP. TO CONSERVE LAND

    Bucks County, PA – Bucks County and Natural Lands Trust, the region’s largest land preservation organization, recently announced the preservation of 77 acres in Milford Township.

    The land, owned by Milford Township Fish, Game and Forestry Association, will be protected by a conservation easement – a legally-binding agreement that prohibits future development of property.

    Located in the Unami Watershed, the property is almost entirely wooded and is bisected by the Schmoutz Creek.

    THE HOPEWELL BIG WOODS

    NPS to help partnership plan heritage tourism and outdoor recreation opportunities in 73,000-acre forest on the border of Chester and Berks counties.

    The public-private partnership to conserve the Hopewell Big Woods, the largest remaining un-fragmented woodland in southeastern Pennsylvania, announced today that the National Park Service (NPS) will continue technical planning assistance for a second year through the agency’s Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program.

    NATURAL LANDS TRUST HOSTS GREEN ARCHITECTURE LECTURE

    Media, PA – On Tuesday, Oct. 9, Natural Lands Trust will present “Green Architecture,” a lecture by architect Muscoe Martin of m² Architecture. The lecture will take place at Hildacy Farm Preserve, located at 1031 Palmers Mill Road in Media, Pa.

    According to some experts, homes and offices generate one-third of the greenhouse gases produced in the United States.

    Media, PA – Natural Lands Trust, philanthropist H. F. “Gerry” Lenfest and Chester County officials are pursuing a plan to establish a 1,086-acre nature preserve in Newlin Township, Chester County that will combine private lands with the Embreeville park lands currently owned by the County.
